PRINCIPLES OF LABORATORY GENETICS AND GENOMICS

In the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics, Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics , TSMU, the elective subject "Principles of Laboratory Genetics and Genomics" was implemented for the second time with the participation of students of the American MD Program.

Course format was project-based learning. Students were involved in a project. They performed one of the project objectives using following methods: DNA extraction, DNA quantitative analysis, agarose gel electrophoresis, genotyping and polymorphism analysis using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), allele specific Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), etc.
