ZURAB GURULI, SUCCESSFUL DOCTOR IN US VISITED TSMU

In the framework of US MD Program, Professor Zurab Guruli, Anesthesiologist from Montgomery VA Med. Center was invited to Tbilisi State Medical University to hold a workshop for the students of  American MD Program.

The theme of the training was `Management of Intubation and Respiratory System’. The format of the training included a brief theoretical introduction and discussions about interesting cases, the workshop included: access respiratory system by using  Mallampati score/classification; different techniques for using laryngoscope;  basic evaluation of tracheal intubation complexity.  During the 2 days 50 students were trained in the modern medical skills by using the high technology medical education manikin.

Professor Zurab Guruli is a Director of Anesthesia and Surgery Departments at the US Montgomery Federal Clinic as well as the professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the University of Mississippi. He has graduated from TSMU in 1992, underwent an esthesiology residency program at Tulane University and having more than 20 years of clinical practice in USA.
