American MD Program students received certificates of participation for the essay contest “Biomarkers in the diagnosis of rare diseases”

Ajay Pranay Shah, Mariam Chelidze, Ani Chagiashvili, Zakee Azmi, Daniel Pak, American MD Program students of Tbilisi State Medical University received certificates of participation for the essay contest “Biomarkers in the diagnosis of rare diseases”.

Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics and Georgian Society of Medical Genetics and Epigenetics held conference, dedicated to the International Rare Disease Day, which were held on February 28 at the TSMU administrative building rector’s hall.

The conference covered current issues related to rare diseases, including necessity and availability of diagnosis and treatment, current research projects and clinical studies. Within the frames of the conference the winner of the students’ essay contest: “Biomarkers in the diagnosis of rare diseases” were announced. he contest winner received full scholarship from CENTOGENE AG to attend the disease conference – Recent Advances in Rare Diseases (RARD) in Bogota (Columbia) on June 20-22, 2019.
