November 9-10 3rd Caucasus Teaching Course on Child Neurology was held in Tbilisi Best Western Art Hotel. The course was organized by EPNS (European Pediatric Neurology Association) and GACNBD(Georgian Association of Child Neurology and Behavioral Disorders).
The event was opened by TSMU rector Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria and the president of Georgian Association of Child Neurology and Behavioral Disorders Prof. Nana Geladze.
The educational lectures were presented by foreign and Georgian tutors: Prof. Leiven Lagae (University of Leuven, Belgium), Prof. Finbar O'Callaghan (University College London, UK), Prof. Dana Craiu (Carlo Davila University of Medicare Bucharest, Romania), Prof. Monika Eisermann (Necker Hospital Paris, France), Dr. Biayna Sukhudyan (Arabkir Medical Center, Yerevan, Armenia), Dr. Sophia Bakhtadze (TSMU), Dr. Sofia Kasradze (Institute of Neurology and Neuropsychology, Tbilisi) and Dr. Tinatin Tkemaladze (TSMU).
The course was intended for MDs, residents and upper course students and covered various aspects and recent advances in pediatric epileptology.
USMD 5th and 3rd year students Ana Chagiashvili, Mariam Mikadze, Pranay Shah and Bridger Hofmann attended the two-day course and gained insightful knowledge in pediatric epilepsy. All participants received CME accredited certificates.
EPNS Caucasus Teaching Course on Child Neurology is a bi-annual event and will take place again in 2020.
