Cleaning Action - Earth Day

 At the initiative of Tbilisi State Medical University cleaning action was held on April 26, 2017. Students of American MD Program participated in the action with Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of TSMU, with the members of the administration and students from several faculties. They cleaned the territory of the administrative building, collected garbage waste, and used special solutions for trees and planted the plants.

The cleaning action was held within the framework of Environmental Week "Clean Europe", which is being organized by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia in various regions of the country. Similar actions to care for the tidiness of Tbilisi State Medical University is said to take place in the future as well.

Zurab Vadachkoria (Rector, Professor): „Tbilisi State Medical University regularly performs such a demonstration on the surrounding territories of its 5 clinics and educational buildings. Each of us must be self-conscious because fist of all it is necessary for our health. Besides, tourist season comes and more tourists will arrive the country. I think we should look after our environment and clean it up. "

Mariam Pestvenidze (Student of US MD Program, Class 2022): „Human being and environment are inseparable. Environment directly influences our life, health... As the future generation, we, students have obligation to protect nature in order to preserve it for the next generations. Such kinds of events raises awareness how important nature is for surviving that if environment destroys human being won't be able to live and this will help other people to realize how important is to protect the nature".

Ana Gogolashvili (Student of US MD Program, Class 2022): „Yesterday we celebrated the international earth day. There are many ecological problems that we encounter nowadays. We, students of the US MD program, tried to play our role in taking care of the environment and started with our university's administrative building. I am pleased that this kind of projects are becoming more and more frequent and will be glad to take part in them in the future too".
